Kilton Webb is running for Maine House District 98 (Durham, Pownal, portions of Bowdoin, Lisbon, and Topsham). A resident of Durham, Kilton shares this information about himself to encourage you to cast your ballot for him.

Tell us a bit about your personal history – jobs held, accomplishments, or other information about you that you’d like voters to know:

Life Long Mainer. Journeyman Electrician. Organizer for IBEW Local 567. Incumbent for HD 98.

What led you to run for this office?

I ran for office because I wanted a young worker’s perspective represented in Augusta. I am very involved in Organized labor here in Maine where I found that our current Representative had not been doing a good job, in my opinion, and I wanted to challenge him.

What are the most important issues that residents of Androscoggin County face? What do you propose to address those issues?

I am on the energy committee where I focus on keeping our CMP bills low while keeping our power reliable.

What policies and legislation do you plan to advocate for?

I plan on working to expand access to apprenticeships and invest in our infrastructure.

What do you think the biggest challenges of this office will be? How do you plan to overcome them?

If elected the biggest challenge I will face is navigating the field of other elected representatives to meet my objectives and fund them. In my first term I spent a lot of time learning how the processes of Government work so I can be most effective.

If elected, what elected official would you most like to emulate?

I am very much my own person, but I have been blessed to have many good examples and mentors. Troy Jackson has been a fearless leader for the working class. Jared Golden at the Federal level has shown strength in character to do what he believes is right even when it might not be popular. Melanie Sacks was the my first term’s chair of the Energy, Utility Technology committee and she brought an unmatched calmness, preparedness, and respect to each committee meeting

What else should voters know about you before they cast their November 2026 ballots?

I am a proven candidate with a track record and results. I put in the work to pass all three of the bills I sponsored in my first term while putting in the work to learn how to do it the right way. I do not make campaign promises I do not intend to keep. I talked about workforce development – I passed LD 1117 which does exactly that. I talked about right sizing Net Energy Billing – I worked on and passed LD 1777 which does exactly that. We talked about energy costs – I passed LD 2078 which repeals the Sales tax on our CMP bills. Sadly LD 2078 went unfunded meaning I have unfinished work to get back to.

When I make a promise, those are not idle words – I plan on doing the work to achieve what I say I plan on doing.
